I have not wrote a post in a while…the summer and work have gotten the best of me. In addition, family issues are always at hand.
While my site is devoted to ethics I enjoy discussing a variety of topics, and just talking about life in general.
Too often we get caught up in the chaos of the world and overlook what really matters to us. We lose sight of who we are, we push aside our dreams, goals and aspirations for the future, and sometimes we just become lazy.
I think that I generally feel the milder side of this storm, but it happens to the best of us.While I live in the ‘high-tech’ world at work, I enjoy the simple life at home. I do not have a television in my bedroom, actually I don’t even have cable at my home. Nightly, I enjoy reading a few chapters from one of my favorite books.
I spend much time outdoors in the yard gardening and grooming, but I feel that there is always work to be done. Weeds to pull, grass to cut, hedges to trim, and I need to paint what?? Yes, I know that I am not the only person that feels this way.
I always wonder if there will ever be a day when I am fully caught up with all my “chores” and I can relax. Will there be a time when I don’t have to think about all the stuff I need to do tomorrow or when I get home?
Not only do I want to relax, I want to have ample time to dedicated to obtaining the goals I have set for myself. With this mode of thinking I believe that once my goals are obtained then I can fully relax…it’s sounds good, but I might be setting myself up for a vicious circle. Only time will tell.
Aside from my ranting…if there is one thing that I would like each one of you to take from this…it is to take time to relax, and spend time with you family and friends. Unplug the TV, disconnect the phone, and shutdown the computer. While I talk about planning for the future, remember that none of us know what tomorrow holds. Don’t take for granite all that this beautiful world has to offer.
